Birmingham Chamber Music Society is passionate about supporting emerging young talent. Young Performers' Platform is a special feature of the concert series, giving a short performance slot to talented young players from around the Birmingham region.

Eleanor Davidson - cello

Hindemith Sonata (first movement)

Eleanor Davidson is 16, and a pupil at King Edward VI High School for Girls.  She has been playing the 'cello since she was 8, and now studies with Elaine Ackers.  Having secured a distinction in her Grade 8 in 2007, she recently achieved her 'cello Diploma.  She also has Grade 8 in piano and classical ballet.  She plays with the Academy Chamber Orchestra, the Birmingham Schools' Symphony Orchestra and the King Edward's School orchestra.  She is a member of the International Chamber Music Academy, Pro Corda, and attends the Oxford 'Cello School, where she was selected as a soloist in rarely performed concertos by Rorem and Gulda.
